Budget Cuts Being Considered by School Committee

We would like to ensure that the Merriam community is aware of the budget cuts currently up for discussion and decisions by the School Committee. 

At the December 19th School Committee meeting, the Elementary Budget Task Force presented its recommendations – You can watch the presentation here:

Please note: this is a brief summary that does not include many details brought up during the meeting, many of which can be heard in the Public Participation portion of the meeting. 

The independent consultant acknowledges the efficiency that already exists in our elementary school budget and that there are no easy places to cut back.  The School Committee needs to hear from elementary school families in order to make the best decisions that impact our children.  Please send your letters regarding the proposed recommendations to the School Committee at: abrsc@abschools.org

Our children deserve schools that are properly and mindfully staffed.
