Welcoming New Families
Buddy Family Program
Are you a new family at Merriam? Interested
in being “mentored” by an experienced Merriam family in order to
ease your transition to our school? We have “buddy families”
ready and waiting. If you’re interested, sign up with
Sandra Kane. Your buddy family will call you a couple
of times at the beginning of the school year to check in with
you and will be available to answer any questions that may come
up at any time. Put them to work—sign up now!
Building Community
Community is a vital component of
the Merriam experience. To support this for the parents and
teachers of the PTO, we introduced Community Building
Conversations (CBC) last year.
The primary goal for
this year’s Community Building Conversations is to engage
members of the Merriam School parent community in a series of
facilitated conversations around topics of interest to teachers,
parents, and students. Through these discussions, we hope to
deepen our knowledge on several important topics in education
(broadly conceived) while simultaneously deepening our
connections and understanding of one another.
